In the second quarter of 2024, Saudi Arabia’s labor market indicators highlighted a rise in the labor force participation rate for Saudi females by 0.8 percentage points, reaching 36.2%.
The employment-to-population ratio for Saudi females also increased by 0.5 percentage points to 31.3%. However, the unemployment rate for Saudi females rose by 0.8 percentage points to 13.6% compared to the previous quarter.
For Saudi males, the labor force participation rate climbed by 0.6 percentage points, reaching 66.9%, while the employment-to-population ratio increased to 63.7%. Despite these gains, the unemployment rate for Saudi males ticked up to 4.7% from the previous quarter.
