The world is awaiting the announcement by the General Assembly of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) of the Kingdom’s winning bid to host the FIFA World Cup™ 2034 tomorrow, December 11, especially after it received a rating of 419.8 out of 500, which is the highest technical rating given by the International Federation throughout history to a file submitted to host the World Cup.
The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced at the end of last month, through an official statement, its technical evaluation of the 2030 and 2034 World Cup files, in preparation for the decision to select the host countries for the two tournaments, as the Kingdom received the highest rating for the World Cup hosting file throughout history, and it was also announced that the nomination file (Spain, Morocco, and Portugal) to host the 2030 World Cup received a rating of 4.2 out of 5, and each of (Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay) received a rating of 3.6 out of 5 to host one match in the 2030 World Cup to celebrate the centenary of the World Cup.
This comes after the inspection tour of the official delegation of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) last October, and its review of the details of the Kingdom’s candidacy to host the global football event, where the cities hosting the tournament, the sports projects and facilities included in the hosting file were visited, and the comprehensive plans and all upcoming preparations for the Kingdom to host the global football event with the presence of (48) teams in one country for the first time in history were reviewed.
The Kingdom’s file to host the global football event received unlimited attention, empowerment and support from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which contributed to the file gaining the confidence of the international community.
The Kingdom had officially submitted its candidacy file to host the FIFA World Cup™ 2034 last July under the slogan “Together We Grow”, in which it revealed its ambitious plans to host the most important tournament in the world of football in 15 stadiums distributed across five host cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, Al-Khobar, Abha, and Neom, in addition to ten other hosting sites across the Kingdom.
Hosting the FIFA World Cup™ 2034 represents an important opportunity to highlight the Kingdom’s ongoing progress, which has resulted in hosting major global events in various sports, including the Club World Cup and Formula 1, which contributes to achieving the sporting goals and building a sporting legacy that forms a fundamental foundation for the future.
