Meta, the parent company of Facebook, announced the launch of a massive project to build the largest data center dedicated to artificial intelligence in northeastern Louisiana in America, with an investment estimated at $10 billion.
This center is expected to bring about a major transformation in the state’s technology sector, especially in an economic region that suffers from neglect.
Republican Governor Jeff Landry described the project as a “game changer,” noting that the data center will represent a qualitative leap for the technology sector in Louisiana, and provide direct and indirect job opportunities, according to “AP.”
In a related context, “XAI,” the artificial intelligence startup founded by Elon Musk, is working to expand a supercomputer project in Memphis, Tennessee, according to the city’s Chamber of Commerce.
