Bandar Ibrahim Alkhorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, confirmed during his participation in the fourth edition of the Saudi Green Initiative Forum, that the Kingdom has the largest hydrogen production facilities in the world. It contributes 10% of the global target for hydrogen production. The Saudi Green Forum is held within the (COP 16) conference.
Alkhorayef stressed the Kingdom’s distinguished position as a center for green mining, in addition to its strong competitive advantage, stressing that the Kingdom will continue its efforts to enhance a competitive energy market, not only in fossil fuels. He also drew attention to the great progress in the fields of wind and solar energy, which have become more competitive.
Alkhorayef pointed to the Kingdom’s strategic geographical location, which connects many continents and countries, in addition to its strong financial capabilities, political stability, and the competencies of Saudi human cadres.
The Saudi Green Initiative discusses the most pressing environmental challenges, and also seeks to reduce emissions, afforestation, and the environment. The initiative aims to reach net zero neutrality in the Kingdom.
Throughout the Riyadh COP16 conference, the Saudi Green Initiative exhibition will open its doors to allow visitors to learn about the Kingdom’s efforts in reducing emissions, planting trees, and protecting the environment through innovative interactive experiences.
