The Kingdom ranks first in the Arab world and 20th globally in “Quality Infrastructure for Sustainable Development” Index

The Kingdom achieved first place in the Arab world and the Middle East and North Africa region, and twentieth place globally, according to the Quality Infrastructure for Sustainable Development Index “QI4SD” for the year 2024, which is issued every two years by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization “UNIDO”, as the Kingdom jumped 25 places compared to the index issued in 2022.

Dr. Saad bin Othman Al-Qasabi, Governor of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, explained that the results of the index reflect the national efforts made by Saudi Standards in partnership with the Saudi Accreditation Center, and relevant entities in the public and private sectors, as a result of the unlimited support that the quality system receives from the wise leadership to achieve the goals of Vision 2030, enhance the Kingdom’s global position, and contribute to building a prosperous and more competitive economy.

He praised the development of the quality system in the Kingdom, and its role in improving the quality of life, economic growth, raising performance efficiency and facilitating business practice, which contributed to the Kingdom’s progress in international indicators.

The Kingdom’s ranking among the top 20 countries in the world confirms its commitment to developing the quality infrastructure system and upgrading its legislation and regulations. The quality infrastructure elements measured in this index include: specifications, measurement and calibration, accreditation, conformity assessment and national policies.
