US, China cooperate on combating online sale of infringing goods

“Officials from China and the United States met in Hangzhou, China, to discuss ways to cooperate in combating the online sale of infringing goods,” China’s market regulator said in a statement carried by the Chinese news agency “Xinhua” on Tuesday.

The meeting was jointly organized by the China National Market Regulatory Authority and the United States Patent and Trademark Office, with the participation of about 200 representatives from law enforcement authorities, judicial bodies, industry associations, brand owners and e-commerce platforms from the two countries, the regulator said in a statement carried by the Chinese news agency “Xinhua” on Tuesday.

The meeting’s topics included intellectual property policies and related regulations, administrative enforcement practices, cooperation between e-commerce platforms and stakeholders, and law enforcement experiences in the United States.
