Goldman Sachs Bank expected that achieving the goal of reaching net zero emissions in the world will require investments of about $ 75 trillion by 2070, to ensure that global warming is kept at about 2 degrees Celsius.

The Goldman Sachs research team had previously expected that $ 62 trillion would be needed to reach net zero emissions, and envisioned reaching this level by 2060.

The head of natural resources research in Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Goldman Sachs Research, Della Vigna, said that the total of about $ 75 trillion, which represents $ 1.5 to $ 2 trillion in infrastructure spending annually until 2070, covers a wide range of investment opportunities.

The forecast includes $7 trillion for power grids, another $5.1 trillion for energy storage, $3.7 trillion for the infrastructure that will make the shift to electric vehicles possible, as well as $9.3 trillion needed to make industrial processes carbon neutral, and $1.3 trillion for green hydrogen plants.
