Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef discussed, during bilateral meetings he held with Spanish companies in Madrid today, joint opportunities in the industries of drones and cars, and developing geological survey operations, in the presence of Her Highness Princess Haifa bint Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf Al-Muqrin, Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Kingdom of Spain, and the CEO of the National Center for Industrial Development, Eng. Saleh Al-Salmi.
Al-Khorayef discussed with leaders of major Spanish companies mutual opportunities in the field of localizing the most prominent advanced industries that the national industrial strategy focuses on developing, including localizing the manufacture of heavy-duty drones and their components, the automotive industry, engineering and design, shipbuilding and maintaining their manufacturing supply chains, in addition to developing comprehensive and sustainable geological survey operations.
The Spanish companies whose officials he met with included; Drone Hopper, a drone manufacturer; Ferroglobe Mining; Reinasa Forgins & Casting, a leading provider of supply chains for the shipbuilding, cement and heavy equipment industries; IDIADA, a leading automotive design and engineering company; and Xcalibur Geological Survey. Al-Khurayef also met with Ana María Alonso Zarza, Director of the Spanish Geological and Mining Institute, and discussed with her opportunities for cooperation in the field of geological research and the provision of high-quality geological and technical data necessary for various scientific and industrial applications. During his tour of the institute’s museum, His Excellency was briefed on the collection of minerals, rocks and fossils on display, which represent various mineral regions in Spain and the world.
