Dollar falls to one-month low against yen

The dollar fell to a one-month low against the yen and a one-week low against the euro on Friday.

The dollar fell 0.7 percent to 187.63 yen by 0540 GMT, its lowest since Aug. 5. The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note fell to a one-month low of 3.708 percent.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against a basket of six major currencies, fell 0.1 percent to 100.94, its lowest in a week. The index has so far fallen 0.8 percent for the week.
