The Saudi Investment Recycling Company “SIRC” announced the successful completion of the first export of recycled and heat-washed PET flakes through one of its joint ventures affiliated with Yadum “Massab” to one of the largest manufacturers of recycled PET bottles in the United Kingdom, after it began exporting earlier this year to some manufacturers in Spain.
“SIRC”, which is fully owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund, said in a press release that this achievement represents an important step for “Yadum” to enter the British market, a region with huge potential for importing recyclable materials. This step is not the first of its kind, as “Serk” previously began exporting PET flakes to Spain since the beginning of this year, which raised the export to more than 1,650 tons, stressing that the company is not only opening new doors to expand its export capabilities, but also strengthening “SIRC’s” partnership with major companies in Europe. This cooperation is expected to push towards further integration in the PET recycling sector and other fields. In this context, Eng. Ziad bin Mohammed Al Shiha, CEO of “SIRC” Group, said: “We are proud to contribute to achieving the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s sustainability goals through this effort. By reducing greenhouse gas emissions, diverting waste away from landfills, and supporting the Saudi Green Initiative, “SIRC” is playing a pivotal role in empowering local industries and promoting a more sustainable future.”
