The Human Capability Development Program, one of the Saudi Vision 2030 Realization Programs, hosted the launch of the World Bank’s Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Economic Update Report today at the HENA Center in Mohammed Bin Salman Nonprofit City.
The launch ceremony discussed the report, titled “Unlocking Prosperity: Transforming Education for Economic Breakthrough in the GCC for 2024,” with attendees providing an analysis of economic developments in the GCC countries and the importance of quality education in promoting long-term economic growth.
The report projects economic growth in the GCC countries to reach 2.8% in 2024 and 4.7% in 2025. It also analyzes education outcomes and the progress achieved by students in the GCC countries compared to those in countries with similar income levels.
The report recommends that Gulf Cooperation Council countries invest in effective practices to improve the quality of teaching and learning, such as building basic skills from early childhood, which is considered the cornerstone for developing future skills.
