The Knowledge Economic City (KEC) announced on Sunday the signing of a significant contract with Elkhereiji Commerce and Contracting Company. This contract is for the execution of electromechanical, finishing, and landscaping works for a group of 8 residential buildings within the first phase of the Al-Alya mixed-use project. These buildings will provide a total of 264 residential apartments of various sizes.

The total value of the contract is SAR 171.1 million, excluding value-added tax, and its duration spans 20 months, beginning from May 5, 2024.

The Al-Alya project, situated within the Knowledge Economic City, is a key development featuring mixed-use components within a gated complex. This compound integrates hospitality, housing, offices, retail, and education services. The project is designed in response to the urban trend of “humanizing cities” and the Kingdom’s ambitious vision for 2030, emphasizing quality of life and green spaces.

The project overlooks Safwan Street and covers an area of 269,000 square meters, divided into plots of varying sizes. It features wide corridors and roads, emphasizing pedestrian-friendly design with approximately 60,000 square meters dedicated to green spaces. These areas include pedestrian paths, with a focus on accessibility for people with special needs.

Included within the project are two office groups designed with flexible workspaces to promote innovation. These spaces are connected to hotels and residences overlooking a kilometer-long park, serviced apartments, and residences equipped with smart home technology.

The project also comprises a 4-star hotel with 130 rooms managed by Hyatt International Group under the Hyatt Centric brand, as well as 4-star hotel apartments with 420 units managed by Hyatt International Group under the Hyatt House brand. Additionally, there are 420 serviced apartments managed by the company, and around 1,000 residential apartments available for sale within a closed and serviced complex. These residential units are being offered through off-plan sales supervised by the Economic Cities and Special Zones Authority.

Further components of the project include 70 connected villas, commercial spaces, a large mosque, and a nursery.

Currently, the concrete structure for the 264 residential apartments is being executed by Elkhereiji Commerce and Contracting Company. Site works for the hotel and hotel apartments area are ongoing, with contracting works in progress for future phases.
