GCC, Central Asian countries cooperate in digital economy and energy security

Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, discussed with Bakhtiyar Saidov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, preparations for the second ministerial meeting for the strategic dialogue that will be held between the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Central Asian countries tomorrow, Monday, in the Uzbek capital of Tashkent, in the presence of the foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Central Asian countries. .

Al-Budaiwi stressed the great importance that the GCC countries attach to their relations with the countries of Central Asia, stressing that holding this second joint ministerial meeting, and within a period of less than a year of the first summit between the two sides, is considered new evidence of the keenness of both parties to move forward towards developing relationships at all levels and in all fields.

He pointed out that the topics and sectors in which cooperation is hoped to take place, during the joint ministerial meeting, are political coordination and cooperation in the field of investment and economics, including the digital economy, energy security, optimal ways of using it for clean uses, and work to establish trade corridors between the two regions, which will constitute an important strategic tributary for both sides.
