Wall Street’s main indexes opened lower on Monday in a holiday-shortened business week as investors awaited Federal Reserve officials’ comments and inflation data.
According to Reuters, Boeing shares rose after the aircraft manufacturer said that its CEO would step down by the end of the year.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 65.36 points, or 0.17%, to 39,410.54 points.
The Standard & Poor’s 500 index opened down 14.66 points, or 0.28 percent, to 5,219.52 points, and the Nasdaq Composite index fell 93.52 points, or 0.57 percent, to 16,335.30 points.
