The South Korean company Doosan Energility said on Monday that it will supply equipment for the “Taiba 1” and “Qassim 1” electricity production plants in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
According to the Korean Yonhap Agency, the company said that it had signed a contract with SEPCO-3, which is responsible for the design, procurement and construction of the two stations, to supply two steam turbines with a capacity of 650 megawatts, and two generators.
The value of the contract was about 150 billion won ($114 million).
The Taiba 1 and Al-Qassim 1 stations will be built about 200 kilometers north of Jeddah and 200 kilometers northwest of Riyadh, respectively, by 2027, with a capacity of 1,800 megawatts each.
