The main indices on Wall Street did not witness a significant movement at the opening on Friday, after the release of a report on producer prices in the United States, which included data that exceeded expectations and undermined hopes for an imminent cut in interest rates from the Federal Reserve (the US central bank).
According to Reuters, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 21.41 points, or 0.06%, to 38,751.71 points.
The Standard & Poor’s 500 index opened up 1.40 points, or 0.03%, to 5,031.13 points, and the Nasdaq Composite index rose 4.26 points, or 0.03%, to 15,910.43 points.
