Nasdaq and S&P 500 open higher amid optimism about technology company earnings

The Standard & Poor’s 500 and Nasdaq indices opened higher today, Friday, in light of investors’ optimism about the strong quarterly reports from the technology companies Meta Platforms and Amazon.

According to Reuters, the Standard & Poor’s 500 rose by 9.87 points, or 0.20 percent, to 4,916.06 points, and the Nasdaq Composite Index gained 41.52 points, or 0.27 percent, to 15,403.16 points.

As for the Dow Jones Industrial Average, it fell 71.74 points, or 0.19%, to 38,448.10 points.
