Wall Street opens lower after mixed business results

The performance of the main indices on Wall Street was weak at the beginning of the session on Tuesday, as investors were evaluating mixed business results from long-established companies such as United Parcel Service and General Motors, while awaiting an important report on jobs to obtain indicators about the strength of the labor market.

According to Reuters, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 35.22 points, or 0.09%, to 38,298.23 points, and the Standard & Poor’s 500 index opened down 2.04 points, or 0.04%, to 4,925.89 points.

The Nasdaq Composite Index fell 23.97 points, or 0.15 percent, to 15,604.08 points.
