The Wall Street Journal said on Tuesday that major oil company Shell has suspended all shipments through the Red Sea indefinitely, after American and British strikes on the Houthis in Yemen raised fears of further escalation.
According to Reuters, the attacks launched by the Houthis on ships have disrupted global trade. The movement, allied with Iran, says it is moving in solidarity with the Palestinians
The newspaper added that the company took a step last week to stop all transit operations due to fears that a successful attack would cause a massive oil leak in the region, in addition to the risks that threaten the safety of ship crews.
Last month, BP announced that its ships would stop crossing the Red Sea.
