Job openings in America declined slightly during November

Job opportunities in the United States decreased for the third month in a row in November as labor market conditions gradually deteriorated

According to Reuters, the Ministry of Labor said in its monthly report on job opportunities and labor turnover on Wednesday that job opportunities, which are a measure of labor demand, fell by 62 thousand to 8.790 million on the last day of November.

October data was revised slightly upward to show 8.852 million job opportunities instead of the 8.733 million previously announced.

Economists polled by Reuters had expected 8.850 million job opportunities in November. Job vacancies fell from a record high of 12 million in March 2022.

The labor market is witnessing a steady slowdown after the Federal Reserve (the US central bank) raised interest rates by 525 basis points since March 2022.
