GASTAT Obtains EFQM Institutional Excellence Certificate

The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) has obtained the Institutional Excellence Certificate (Qualified by EFQM) from the European Foundation for Quality Management.

A press release issued by GASTAT stated, “GASTAT managed to obtain this certificate after achieving compliance with the EFQM model according to the RADAR matrix. This was through the application of institutional excellence standards set by the foundation, which align with the directions of Saudi Vision 2030.”

According to the release, the certificate was obtained by adhering to the European Foundation for Quality Management’s standards and implementing its widely recognized model, established in 1989. Meeting these requirements aligns with the pursuit of institutional excellence by various local and international entities. “It enables organizations to achieve high-quality business results within a governance framework that contributes to business sustainability, improves work environments and increases productivity.”

GASTAT’s achievement underscores its commitment to enhancing its statistical system through sustainable quality operations, creating sustainable value for statistical products, prioritizing digital transformation, and adopting modern technologies and international best practices. The EFQM excellence model, introduced by the foundation, serves as a comprehensive framework that assists organizations in establishing institutional work, improving performance, catering to the service needs of beneficiaries and ensuring sustainability.

GASTAT President Dr. Fahad bin Abdullah Al-Dossari commended the alignment with the EFQM’s European model of institutional excellence, expressing gratitude for the efforts made. He emphasized that obtaining the certificate is “an important contributor to sustainability and development”, enabling GASTAT and its staff to enhance their performance and operations. Notably, the achievement resulted from an external evaluation conducted by the European Foundation for Quality Management, encompassing a comprehensive and precise set of practical procedures covering all of GASTAT’s technical and administrative activities.

Al-Dossari added, “Through continuous institutional planning and development, we have achieved excellence in this critical stage that GASTAT is experiencing, as it is going through a comprehensive transformation at various levels, striving to achieve the highest quality standards. This comes from the efforts and collaboration of GASTAT staff and the hard work they put in to be part of this success.”
