Minister of Industry Concludes His Official Visit to Korea

Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef concluded his official visit to the Republic of Korea. The visit aimed to enhance cooperation and partnership in the industrial and mining sectors and expand the prospects of cooperation between the two countries.

During his visit to the Korean capital, Seoul, Alkhorayef met with the Korean Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, Bang Moon Kyu, where they discussed opportunities to expand industrial cooperation between the two countries and topics of common interest.

They also discussed developments in joint projects and agreements and reviewed promising investment opportunities between the two countries in various industrial sectors. They touched on increasing trade exchange and opportunities to develop non-oil exports between the two sides.

Alkhorayef also met with a number of companies in the Republic of Korea, including Samsung Medison, EcoPro, Hankook, GL Rapha, LG Electronics and other major companies.

He visited a number of factories, including the HD Hyundai “Hyundai Heavy Industries”, which works in shipbuilding, industrial and engineering facilities, engines and machinery, in the city of Ulsan. During this visit, the two sides discussed opportunities for cooperation in the field of marine industries. He also visited the Doosan Company factory in Changwon, toured the factory facilities, and learned about the company’s most prominent works.

Alkhorayef also visited the factory of KG Mobility, one of the largest car manufacturing companies in Korea, and was briefed on the company’s most prominent achievements in the manufacture of SUVs and its plans in the field of electric cars. He also visited the factory of Hyundai Motor Company, which manufactures cars. He discussed with its officials the stages of implementing the joint project agreement between the Public Investment Fund and Hyundai to establish a highly automated factory for manufacturing cars in the Kingdom.
