Man United family owner negotiates selling a stake to British ‎billionaire Ratcliffe

Manchester United’s owners, the American Glazer family, are currently negotiating the sale of a stake to British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe in a deal that values the club at more than 5 billion pounds, as reported by Bloomberg.

Ratcliffe is Chairman and CEO of Ineos Chemicals Group, which he founded in 1998 and of which he still owns two-thirds, and whose turnover is estimated at $80 billion.

Last September, United suffered huge losses in its market value amounting to more than 600 million pounds ($702 million), after reports that the Glazer family, which owns the club, temporarily halted its sale. But it seems that she returned to negotiate with the British billionaire to sell him a stake. Manchester United’s market value currently stands at 3 billion pounds ($3.86 billion), which is half the price Glazer’s company is asking to sell the club (6 billion pounds sterling).
