Saudi-Vietnamese Joint Committee Holds Meeting in Hanoi

The Saudi-Vietnamese Joint Committee held its fifth meeting in the Vietnamese capital, Hanoi, on Wednesday. The meeting was chaired from the Saudi side by Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Strategies and Industrial Sectors Eng. Abdulaziz Majed Al-Ahmadi and the Vietnamese side by the Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang, in the presence of representatives of government agencies from both sides.

The committee discussed relations and common interests and ways to enhance them between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in accordance with the economic, scientific, and technical cooperation agreement concluded in Hanoi on May 25, 2006, and discussed focusing efforts on increasing the volume of investments in prioritized sectors between the two countries and enhancing cooperation in the field of trade, exports, and investments.

The two sides discussed their desire to increase trade, expand trade products, and support trade initiatives and capabilities by encouraging the swap of trade missions and participating in economic activities in the two countries.

The two sides agreed to proceed with working to increase bilateral collaboration between the two countries, which includes several areas: foreign relations, trade, energy, industry, transportation, agriculture, environment, investment, finance, development support, health, education, training and human resources development, media, culture, tourism, justice, security, defense, science, technology, and innovation.
