CST Collaborates with ITU to Lead Global Efforts to Bridge Digital Divide

The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) announced the launch of a joint initiative with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to create innovative solutions that harness traditional and satellite communications services and bridge the digital divide globally.

This is a part of the work of the digital event for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Digital Summit held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

The Governor of CST, Dr. Muhammad bin Saud Al-Tamimi, underlined the pivotal role of the communications, space and technology sector in advancing sustainable development, noting that the initiative affirms the Kingdom’s pioneering role in harnessing communications, space and technology services to serve humanity.

SDG Digital Summit sheds light on data and digital technologies and their mission in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, and the role of digital technologies in facing emerging challenges.
