Saudi CPI.. Clothing and furniture sectors were the most ‎declining commodities during June

The General Authority for Statistics revealed that the sections of ready-made garments and home furnishing and equipment decreased the most in June 2023 compared to the same period last year, according to its report today on the consumer price index for the month of June.

The prices of the home furnishing and equipment department decreased by 2.3%, affected by the decrease in the prices of furniture, carpets, and floor coverings by 4.6%. The prices of the clothing and shoes department decreased by 2.9% compared to the same period last year, affected by the decrease in the prices of ready-made clothes by 4.6%. Communications third as the most declining department by 0.7%

The General Authority for Statistics revealed that the consumer price index in the Kingdom amounted to 2.7% during the month of June 2023 AD, compared to June 2022 AD, which is lower than the previous month, May 2023 AD, on an annual basis, when it was 2.8%; This is due to the increase in the prices of housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels by 9.1%, and the prices of food and beverages by 1%.

The authority said that the actual rents for housing in the Kingdom increased by 10.8% in June 2023 AD, which was affected by the increase in apartment rental prices by 22.8%. The index is 21%

Food and beverage prices also increased by 1%; Affected by the increase in the prices of meat and poultry by 2.3%, and the prices of milk and its products and eggs by 7.1%. The Transportation Department recorded an increase of 1.6%, due to the increase in the purchase prices of vehicles by 1.3%. The Restaurants and Hotels Department also recorded an increase of 4.3%, due to the increase in the prices of meal services by 4.1%.
