Arab-China Business Conference stresses importance of reducing carbon emissions to reach net-zero

The President of King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC), Fahad Al-Ajlan, confirmed that the Saudi Green Initiative and the Middle East Green Initiative are two ways to achieve a smooth transition to renewable energy gradually while working to increase production capacities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Al-Ajlan’s remarks came in a panel discussion held during the activities of the 10th Arab-China Business Conference.

The panel addressed the role of sustainability in clean and renewable energy, the investment opportunities it provides, the challenges investors face, and sustainable scientific solutions to these challenges.

The panel participants highlighted that the world would continue to need oil and gas, and the Kingdom today provides one out of every eight barrels of crude oil with the lowest emissions, focusing on reducing them in the future to realize net zero.
