Minister of Investment: Saudi Arabia Invests its Strategic Location in Connecting the Three Continents

The Minister of Investment, Eng. Khalid Al-Falih, affirmed that one of the key pillars of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 is investing in its strategic location to connect the three continents, adding that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is working to link energy with several friendly countries around the world.

Eng. Al-Falih made his remarks during a dialogue session during the activities of the 10th Arab-China Business Conference under the title “Investment and Financing along the Belt and Road Initiative,” with the participation of the Minister of International Cooperation of Egypt, Rania Al-Mashat, the President of Oman Investment Authority, Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al-Murshidi, and the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Chen Jian’an, the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of ACWA Power Mohammed Abunayyan, and the Chair of Hang Lung Properties in Hong Kong Ronnie Chan.

The Minister explained that the relations between the Kingdom and China started decades ago and are linked by many common interests, adding that China’s products and the great leaps it is witnessing in several fields have become available in the Arab countries, benefiting from the investment partnerships that the Kingdom initiated with China in various fields.

He also highlighted that the Arab world needs the availability of many products through mega projects with added value in manufacturing and logistics services and linking the region to each other, one of the indicators that the Belt and Road initiative aspires to.

Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the CCPIT Chen Jian’an pointed to the importance of the forum in promoting economic, trade, and investment cooperation between China and the Arab countries to achieve the common interests of all parties.

Meanwhile, the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of ACWA Power Mohammed Abunayyan, stressed the Kingdom’s interest in producing ammonia and the NEOM Green Hydrogen Project, which aims to build the largest commercial facility in the world, adding that several local companies are working on manufacturing many products in cooperation with Chinese companies to be exported to various countries.
