Maitham Hasan appointed as Batelco’s representative on BOD of Etihad Atheeb Telecommunication replacing Faisal Qamhiyah

Etihad Atheeb Telecommunication Co. (GO) announced on Wednesday the replacement of the member of the Board of Directors representing Batelco, Mr. Faisal Mohd Nazih Qamhiyah (Non-Executive), with Mr. Maitham Abdulla Ashoor Hasan as a member of the Board of Directors (non-executive) and a representative of Batelco with effect from 11/04/2023, based on the letter of the Chairman of Batelco’s Board of Directors received on April 11, 2023 to complete the remaining period in the current session of the Board of Directors, which will end on October 25, 2023. This appointment will be presented to the first meeting of the General Assembly for approval.

Maitham Abdulla Hasan is the Chief Operations Officer of Batelco Bahrain. He was appointed in 2022, with responsibility to develop & grow the telecommunications services for the government, enterprise, global connectivity, and consumer sectors.

Previously, Maitham was General Manager of the Consumer Division since 2020. He brings over 15 years of experience in digital transformation, telecom product development, mobile & fixed technology, Data Centers, and content services.

Maitham has a long track record of achievements in various leadership positions including leading the introduction of Fiber to the Home in Bahrain, the first introduction of TIII Data Centers in Bahrain, the commercial launch of 5G and the many transformational strategic programmes.

Maitham has an MBA in Marketing & Business Management from Al-Ahlia University and a BSc in Management Information Systems from NYIT as well as a number of professional qualifications in leadership and the telecommunication domain.
