Saudi Ministry of Industry issues 30 licenses during July…‎Investment volume worth SR973 mln

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources revealed the issuance of 30 new industrial licenses during the month of July, distributed among four industrial activities, led by the furniture industry activity with 7 licenses, the activity of making food products, and the activity of manufacturing products of formed metals, and other non-metallic minerals with 3 licenses each.

A report issued by the National Center for Industrial and Mining Information of the Ministry indicated that the total number of industrial licenses issued by the Ministry since the beginning of this year until the end of July reached 531, while the number of existing and under construction factories in the Kingdom until the end of the same month reached 10,685 thousand factories, with an investment volume of 1.367 trillion riyals

The report indicated that the volume of investments in the new licenses for the month (July) amounted to 973 million riyals, while small enterprises acquired most of the new industrial licenses during the same month, at a rate of 86.67%, followed by medium enterprises with a rate of 13.33%, while the national factories recorded the percentage The largest of the total licenses issued by investment type by 73.33%, followed by foreign establishments with 20%, then joint investment enterprises by 6.67%.

The report of the National Center for Industrial and Mining Information stated that the factories that started production during the month of July amounted to 22 factories, with investments amounting to 548 million riyals, topped by food factories with 9 factories, then paper and nonferrous metal factories with 4 each. Production in two factories for formed metals and one factory for beverages, furniture and chemicals activities, while the national factories accounted for 95.45% of the total factories that started production, followed by the joint factories with 4.55%.

The report revealed that the new industrial licenses were distributed among 5 administrative regions, topped by the Riyadh region with 15 licenses, followed by the Eastern Province with 7 licenses, then the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region with 6 licenses, while the Qassim and Madinah regions registered one license for each.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, through the National Center for Industrial Information, issues on a monthly basis the most important industrial indicators that clarify the nature of the movement of industrial activity in the Kingdom, in addition to revealing the size of the change witnessed by the sector in new industrial investments, in addition to the size of jobs provided by the sector.
