National Water Company unveils 1,429 new projects worth SR108 bln

The National Water Company announced its intention to launch and award (1429 projects) with a total value of more than (108 billion riyals), which is the largest package of projects in the water distribution sector, in continuation of its plans and programs to develop water and environmental infrastructure, expand coverage of water and sewage networks, and increase the capacity of stations Treatment and raising the coverage rates of water services to serve citizens and residents in various regions of the Kingdom.

The company explained in a press statement that the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Water Company, led a meeting with the company’s senior executives, to find out the company’s preparations to implement these major national projects.

Engineer Nimr bin Muhammad al-Shibl, CEO of the National Water Company, said: “This package of projects is an extension of the unlimited support from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince – may God protect them – and will contribute, with God’s help, to achieving the objectives of the national water strategy and Saudi Vision 2030”, in the areas Environmental, water, economic and developmental.

After the meeting, Eng. Nimr Al-Shibl revealed that this package of projects will be a strong tributary to enhancing and sustaining water and environmental services, in addition to increasing the coverage of water and sewage networks in all regions of the Kingdom and its affiliated governorate.

Al-Shibl affirmed the company’s commitment to implementing these projects with the highest quality, indicating that they will also contribute to increasing the proportion of local content, and will positively reflect on economic activity in the Kingdom, especially the activity of factories and the contracting market, in addition to the job opportunities it will provide.

Al-Shibl indicated that the projects are distributed over (13) administrative regions of cities and governorates in all six sectors, as 353 projects were allocated to the western sector, “Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region” with a value of more than (38.96 billion riyals), while (240) projects will be implemented in the central sector. Riyadh region” with a value exceeding (14.19 billion riyals), and 215 projects were allocated to the northern sector, which includes “Al-Qassim region, Hail region, Al-Jawf region, and the northern border region” with a value exceeding (12.95 billion riyals), and for the southern sector, which includes “Asir region, and the region of Jazan, Najran, and Al-Baha region” (328 projects) with a total value of more than 15.3 billion riyals. It was allocated to the northwestern sector and includes “Madinah and Tabuk regions” (162 projects) with a total of more than (7.7 billion riyals), while the sector Al Sharqi “Eastern Region” was allocated to it (117 projects) with a value exceeding (16.17 billion riyals), in addition to (14 projects) supporting various sectors with a value exceeding (2.72 billion riyals).
