Etihad Atheeb announces CITC approval to extend commitment period to deploy the network

Etihad Atheeb Communications Company (GO) announced on Monday that it has received a letter from the CITC informing the Company about CITC board of directors’ decision that in the event the Company does not fulfill its obligations, the license to use the frequency spectrum in the 3500MHz band issued to the Company will be canceled.

The Company confirms that it is working hard to fulfill its obligations. Furthermore, the Company presented to the CITC several alternatives for approval of any them in order to meet its obligations and coordination is underway with CITC in this regard.

This comes further to the Company’s announcement published on the Tadawul website on January 13, 2022 with regard to the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) approval to extend the Company’s obligations to deploy the network.

Worth mentioning that the Company has achieved positive results through the implementation of the turnaround strategy toward profitability, and on this occasion, the Company would like to thank the CITC for the coordination and efforts undertaken to approve any of the alternatives presented to it and for the support and guidance it provides to the Company which has a significant impact on the success of the transformation plan to profitability.
