Saudi Arabia ranked the first exporter of dates over the world during 2021, according to a new report published by TradeMab, with the Kingdom exported dates worth SR 1.25 billion last year.
National Center for Palms & Dates said that this report reflects the Kingdom’s interest of enhancing non-oil revenues.
The Center added that the Saudi Vision 2030 included paying a bigger attention to Palms & Date sector through development and sustainability.
It should be noted that Saudi Palms & Date sector’s size worth SR 7.5 billion, or 12% of the agricultural gross product, and 0.4% of the non-oil GDP.
The Kingdom has 33 million palm trees representing 27% of all the world’s palm trees.
