Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, SAUDIA Groupis set to demonstrate its diverse aviation capabilities with a significant presence at the inaugural edition of the World Defense Show 2022 in Riyadh.
Founded by Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI), the global event will be held from 6 to 9 March and host major corporations in the defense industry that will showcase the latest in aircraft services, maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) as well as aviation training over the exhibition’s 800,000-square-meter venue.
SAUDIA Group will be represented at the event by SAUDIA Aerospace Engineering Industries (SAEI), the group’s maintenance and engineering subsidiary, which will display the services and the latest aircraft maintenance technologies it has to offer, as well as its aircraft spare parts manufacturing capabilities.Prince Sultan Aviation Academy, SAUDIA Group’s training and education arm, will showcase its latest training capabilities and facilitiesthat cater to the aviation sector using the most recent technologies.
H.E. Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar, DirectorGeneral of Saudi Arabian Airlines, the group’s parent company, said that as the official carrier of Vision 2030 and a key enabler of the Kingdom’s drive for socio-economic growth, we are proud to be part of such a global event, hosted by Saudi Arabia, that attracts the biggest names in defense to Riyadh, acknowledging the Kingdom’s leading role in the global defense industry.
“SAEI’s participation encompasses service and technical support for a number of military aircraft and all of SAUDIA’s commercial aircraft,” said H.E. Engr. Al-Omar, adding “Prince Sultan Aviation Academy plays a key role in training Royal Saudi Air Force personnel and offers specialized programs to train SAUDIA’s and other commercial aircraft crews and air traffic control personnel.”
“SAEI and PSAA have already begun their journeys to localize the air transport industry and enhance local content, through agreements with the most prominent manufacturers in the world, some of which are already in the process of implementation”Al-Omar concluded.
World Defense Show 2022 will have real and virtual displays of integrated defense solutions along with conferences and seminars on next-generation defense systems. The exhibition will have indoor and outdoor pavilions and halls to host virtual shows. The event is expected to garner widespread media coverage around the world.
