National Competitiveness Center and the American Chamber of Commerce held a meeting, in the presence of Deputy Minister of Commerce and CEO of the Center, Dr. Iman Al-Mutairi, and a host of executives and experts, representing US companies.
The meeting, virtually held, in collaboration with the US Embassy in Riyadh, reviewed the center’s new work plan aimed at implementing reforms that would enable the competitive environment, to keep pace with new global trends based on productivity, sustainability and inclusiveness.
For its part, the Ministry of Energy discussed during the meeting, the Kingdom’s goals in achieving carbon neutrality and promising investment opportunities, in the renewable energy sector, in addition to review with representatives of the Ministry of Justice, the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, and the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, the reforms implemented by these authorities, in terms of legislative and procedural aspects, developing the business system and enhance the Kingdom’s competitiveness.
The meeting falls within the framework of seeking to enhance communication with the local and foreign private sector, and to function as a supportive partner, in the business environment, in the Kingdom.
All those were discussed, in light of the adopted trend towards transition to a broadly national economy based on global productivity and competitiveness, in order to achieve the Saudi sustainable development goals.
