Among diverse events offered to visitors, tourists

Royal Commission for Al-Ula will launch the 1st “Citrus festival”, among several and diverse events that Al-Ula set to offer to visitors and tourists this year.

The Citrus Festival in Al-Ula receives its visitors this weekend (on the 7th and 8th of January), and the following week, on the 14th and 15th of the same month, to highlight the agricultural position of Al-Ula that it has gained for thousands of years. During it, the farmers participating in the event will display the most prominent produces, including a variety of citrus crops, in an agricultural and economic demonstration, in which the people of Al-Ula participate with their products.

Through the festival, the Royal Commission for Al-Ula seeks to boost the economic growth of the province, through community initiatives and development projects.

The festival is held during the seasonal harvest period for the production of farms, during which various types of citrus fruits that are famous for Al-Ula farms, will be displayed.

The seasonal citrus harvest season is a cultural and economic event that the people of AlUla celebrate annually through local bazaars, spreading across a neighboring of AlUla Governorate, where the province’s farms contain more than 200,000 trees of various citrus fruits.
