Under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry, to discuss taking advantage of experience, expertise

Consultative Meeting Held with Several Bodies, Operating in Social Development Domain

Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources held a consultative meeting, with several bodies, operating in the social development sector, to discuss ways to benefit from experiences and expertise, in the social development domain, in a way that contributes to the development of regions and communities adjacent to mining sites, across the Kingdom.

The event took place, under the patronage and presence of the Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Mining Eng. Khalid Al-Mudaifer, and various ministry’s senior staff, in the mining sector.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, the General Authority for Endowments, experts in social development, cooperative societies, the National Center for the Development of the Non-Profit Sector and Charitable Institutions.

During the meeting, consolidating the relationship between the mining sector and the communities adjacent to the mining sites, were reviewed and discussed, at length.

In addition to enhancing partnership opportunities between the mining sector and the social development sector, and institutions and Non-profit organizations, in order to achieve the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, develop and promote the social work and raise its contribution, in the areas of mining

All that, in accordance with the requirements of the mining investment system and its executive regulations.

The meeting included a review of some ideas and visions aimed, at expanding the circle of positive social impact of projects operating in the mining sector, as well as motivating non-profit institutions to develop future partnership opportunities with investors in the mining sector, in order to create a successful socio-economic model that can be converted into social development opportunities and applied to all mining sites, in the Kingdom.

The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources aims to promote the principles of sustainability, including developing communities adjacent to mining sites, preserving the environment, developing national competencies, and contributing to creating sustainable social and economic development, in various regions adjacent to mining activities, especially remote areas, in accordance with the mining investment system and its executive regulations.
