NIDLP Celebrate 2021Achievments, Launch Daleel Platform

The National Industrial Development and Logistics Program “NIDLP” celebrated the achievements of the program’s executive bodies in the sectors (energy, mining, industry, and logistics) as well as the local content and the 4th Industrial Revolution, in a ceremony held under the patronage of Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy.

The Ministry of Energy and the executive authorities, in the sector, have achieved an unprecedented leap in the capacity of gas processing, in the Kingdom, to more than 18.3 billion standard cubic feet per day, within a record period, and the contributions of renewable energy sources, in the national energy mix have also increased, as the commercial operation of the Skaka Energy Project was completed.

Solar photovoltaic record a production capacity of 300 megawatts, and the trial operation of the Dumat Al-Jandal wind power project, emerged with a production capacity of 400 megawatts, which is the largest of its kind, in the Middle East, was completed, and purchase agreements were signed for a number of renewable energy projects, and a world record was achieved.

As the lowest cost to purchase electricity produced from solar energy, in the world, is situated in the Shuaiba solar photovoltaic project, at a cost of 1.04 cents/kilowatt, the construction and operation of five projects to produce electricity from solar energy sources, with a total capacity of 2900 megawatts, was also approved.

On the other hand, contracts for the Saudi-Egyptian electrical interconnection project were signed to establish an electrical interconnection line between the Kingdom and Egypt, with a capacity of 3000 megawatts, which is part of the electrical linkage initiative with Egypt, including transmission stations, submarine cable, and overhead lines.
