The Saudi Electricity company set a new achievement, as Al Shuqaiq steam power plant project, has managed to win the Gold Award: PMI-KSA PROJECT EXCELLENCE, as the best distinctive project, in the Kingdom.
The award winning entities ceremony, recently held, under the patronage of Eng. Badr Al-Dulami, Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistics for Roads Affairs, with the participation of government agencies and major companies, in the Kingdom.
The award was received by Eng. Mahdi Al-Dosari, CEO of the Saudi Electricity Company for Projects Development, who explained that the winning of one of the company’s generating stations such a prestigious award, reflects the production capabilities and competencies that the company enjoys, in line with international projects, in this field.
Shuqaiq steam power plant project represents a future vision that Saudi Electricity has worked to achieve; he pointed out, adding that it significantly contributed to providing production capacity that enhances the company’s own generation capabilities, in light of what the power grid needs from continuous additions to the generation capabilities; to meet the increasing loads, he stressed, stating that its operation is carried out by national competencies, as it was implemented and built, in 2013, and entered into service, in 2017.
Saudi Electricity has a long-standing and ancient experience that are comparable to developed countries, in preparing and implementing electric power projects, including generation, transmission and distribution, and in the hands of a professional Saudis, Eng. Al-Dosari indicated, pointing out that the regulator (PMI) is a reference in implementing and measuring project compatibility and conformity to international standards.
