General Organization for Social Insurance Selected, as Strategic Partner

Emphasizing its strategic and pivotal role, in promoting the concept of occupational safety and health, at the national level, and improving safety levels, in different work environments, the General Organization for Social Insurance, strategically, participated in sponsoring the activities of the Saudi International Conference on Occupational Safety and Health, recently, organized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, and sponsored by the Minister of Human Resources And Social Development Eng. Ahmed Al-Rajhi.

General Organization for Social Insurance pays qualitative attention to occupational safety issues, at all levels, including treatment and payment of compensation for workplace injuries, through the Occupational Hazards Branch, participation, in the preparation of regulations and legislation for occupational health and safety at the level of the Kingdom.

And setting and updating the schedule of occupational injuries, in accordance with international regulations and legislation, in this field, in addition to following up on the availability of occupational health and safety requirements, at facilities, through field visits, spreading a culture of safety and raising awareness of the importance of applying safety requirements, within industrial facilities.

The goal is to reduce the incidence of humiliating injuries, by means of holding conferences, seminars and participating, in special events, in this aspect.

As well as preparing the statistical yearbook of occupational, injuries in the Kingdom, in addition to preparing periodical pamphlets and brochures to raise awareness of occupational risks.

It is worth noting that, according to the data of the General Organization for Social Insurance, the rates of work injuries witnessed a significant decrease, from more than 93 thousand injuries, in the Year 2007 to less than 28 thousand injuries for the Year 2020, and the institution also won the (ISSA) award in the best applications, in the field of proactive services.

The win represented the Social insurance institutional experience, in promoting and developing prevention and protection programs, in the field of occupational safety and health, at the level of the Asia-Pacific region, in return for its efforts in this aspect.
