Supporting Post-harvest Operations, Marketing Coffee Workshop, Held

Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, in the Jazan region, in cooperation with the Organic Production Department, in the Al-Dayer governorate, organized a training workshop entitled “Supporting Post-harvest Operations and Marketing for Coffee Producers”, in the presence of a number of farmers for the transformation program for organic agriculture.

The workshop dealt with the importance of sound agricultural practices for coffee trees, their harvest, post-harvest operations, the packaging mechanism and the selection of appropriate packaging for marketing coffee.

In addition to reviewing appropriate marketing and logistical solutions for coffee producers.

Specialists in post-harvest operations and marketing of local coffee participated, in the workshop, and the workshop was enriched with the participation of successful experiences of a number of farmers, in improving the quality and marketing of the final product.

The workshop falls within the framework of the policy of supporting coffee farmers, under organic transformation by training farmers on post-harvest and packaging operations, contributing to achieving the goal of developing and facilitating their marketing, thus raising the level of organic production.

In a related context, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture launched the “Reef” electronic portal, to serve the beneficiaries of the Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program, and to enable them to register and submit their data, to obtain financial support that contributes to the development of their agricultural activities
