The Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) company, wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), launched a new facility called “SAMI Composites LLC” to manufacture and produce composite parts for aircraft structural sub-assemblies, as a contribution to enhancing the Kingdom’s industrial capabilities, in the field of aerospace and defensive industries.
“Within the framework of our commitment to support the achievement of the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, our focus in the company is on developing Saudi capabilities, in the field of aviation and defense, as the new facility for the manufacture of composite materials for aircraft represents a major step towards achieving this, Chairman of SAMI Ahmed Al-Khatib, said, adding that It will play a key role, in advancing the localization of our competencies, through partnerships with the world’s leading Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), as well as enhancing our exports, in the field of aviation, and developing technical skills for Saudi nationals, in the defense industries sector”.
For his part, the CEO of SAMI Engi. Walid Abu Khaled pointed out the importance of reaching this new stage as part of the company’s efforts to promote the development of pioneering local products and solutions.
It is a pioneer company in composite materials for aircraft, which will serve the military and other sectors, in the Kingdom and the world, stressing that the facility will enhance the national economy by creating nearly 100 high-quality jobs, and will increase non-oil exports over the next few years.
