Program aimed at converting as many as 4,000 factories from the heavy dependence on expatriate workers to digital industrial automation, and creating quality jobs for citizens, is to be launched, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Al-Khorayef revealed.
“The job opportunities in the industrial and mining sectors in the Kingdom today are better and more than the opportunities in the past, and that the two sectors will create qualitative and appropriate opportunities for young men and women from the sons and daughters of the country,” he said during participation in the Future Investment Initiative forum, noting the importance of providing national cadres looking for work, especially with the skills necessary for current and future jobs, in the industrial and mining sectors, and the role of the Human Capacity Development Program, in achieving this.
The private sector plays an influential role in the process of developing the industrial and mining sectors, and it is crucial that it be open and subject to change, including readiness to adopt and adapt with modern technologies, attract skilled people and innovations, pointing to the Kingdom’s keenness on expanding the use of the 4th Industrial Revolution technologies.
He highlighted the significance of expanding technology, in a way that contributes to the Kingdom’s leadership, in many industries, in the region, and exploiting its strategic location to become a global logistics platform, pointing that the strategic objectives of the ministry are based on the principles of flexibility, recovery and the search for development opportunities, by adopting many sectors, including the pharmaceutical and vaccine industries, which require building more skills and expanding the use of technology.
