The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones “Modon” signed a contract to allocate an industrial land with an area of 4,300 square meters, at the Asir Industrial City, to establish the first medical factory in the Kingdom, to localize the manufacture of prosthetics industry.
The contract was signed with the Al-Osm Company for the manufacture of prosthetics, to establish the new factory, which constitutes an added value to the Saudi industry as it is the first of its kind, in the Kingdom, and it comes as a culmination of the efforts of “Modon” to contribute to achieving the requirements of medical security, in line with its pivotal role in Vision 2030, and the initiatives entrusted to it in the National Industrialization and Logistics Program.
The new factory aims to localize the manufacture of plates and nails for orthopedic fractures in the human body with investments amounting to SR40 million, and contribute to covering the local demand by 20% in its first phase, then self-sufficiency and export, in the future, within 3 years, while 100% of jobs will be Saudized.

He stated that MODON is working to create the ideal environment that keeps pace with the aspirations of its partners, in the private sector, through its strategy to empower the industry and contribute to increasing local content, innovating services and products that ease doing business, and providing incentives supporting the start of investment activities, in its industrial cities, in the shortest possible span of time.
5 years since the launch of the Saudi Vision 2030 – Modon succeeded in raising the number of medical factories, in its industrial cities, by 150% to about 173 functioning factories and under construction and establishment, up from 64 factories, at the end of 2016, all of which contributed to mitigating the repercussions of the pandemic on the national economy, by providing the local market’s requirements of medical supplies of international quality.
