Saudi non-oil exports witnessed an improvement after they faced a major challenge, in 2020, due to the pandemic and its impact on the global economy, as they recorded the highest half-value, in their history for the first half of 2021, with an estimated increase of 37%, achieving SR125.3 billion, while they recorded in In the first half of 2020, an amount of SR91.7 billion.
In contrast, they recorded an increase in quantities by 8%, which is equivalent to 34.7 million tons for the first half of 2021, and this indicated an improvement in the value and quantity of performance of non-oil exports and its return to its pre-pandemic normal levels, which confirms the size of efforts the joint efforts exerted by the relevant authorities and their active role in achieving this rise, and it is expected to achieve SR255 billion by the end of the year.
It is noteworthy that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia exported during the first half to 170 countries around the world, and the Emirates was its highest export destination, during the period, as the value of the Kingdom’s exports to it amounted to SR17.0 billion, followed by China with a value of 16.8 billion riyals, then India with a value of SR7.1 billion.
In addition, the petrochemical sector achieved the highest value of exports with a value of SR73.6 billion, during the first half of the year, a growth of 44%, compared to SR51.2 billion in the same period last year.
