To unify technical, operational specifications for all sectors

Minister of Transport Sponsors Signing Ceremony of the Saudi Road Code project contract

Minister of Transport and Logistics Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser sponsored the signing of the contract for the “Saudi Road Code Project”, a part of the initiative to improve the cost of the road life cycle and improve performance within the programs of the Saudi Vision 2030, in the presence of a number of parties involved in preparing and developing the code.

The project aims to become a technical terms of reference for the authorities responsible for roads at all levels, through the preparation and development of a Saudi road code, prepared by the National Center for Road Safety in partnership with the relevant authorities commissioned and with continuous and continuous support from the Ministry.

It also seeks to achieve the best levels of safety, security, quality, economic efficiency, environment, and sustainability through many areas, the most important of which are: planning, design, implementation, and road maintenance, placing road user safety as one of the first and most important pillars in this project, as it promises to use the latest technical evidence.

And the general specifications for the construction of roads and bridges, in addition to the instructions, drawings, procedures, checklists and governance to activate the code and its requirements on all road networks of the partners, for a period of up to 18 months.

The Saudi Road Code project comes as a unification of the technical and operational specifications for all sectors, in order to achieve the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics Services, which aims to reach the sixth place globally in road quality.
