The Saline Water Conversion Corporation, in collaboration with the Singapore Utilities Authority, will organize on Monday a virtual forum entitled “Challenges and Opportunities in Desalination Projects, in the Kingdom”.
The aim is to introduce current and future projects, and to strengthen investment relations with the Singaporean side.
The forum shall shed light on the challenges and opportunities, in the corporation’s projects that are currently being implemented and planned to be completed within the five years, which include 7 desalinated water production systems, 15 desalinated water transportation systems and a number of strategic storage projects.
The forum is set to witness participation of members of the Singapore Utilities Authority (PUB) and a group of international stakeholders and experts, in the field of water desalination, in addition to the leading Singaporean companies, in the desalination industry, with a total participation of nearly 100 members.
Desalination industry aims to raise its production to 7.2 million cubic meters of desalinated water per day, by 2023, to break its current number of 5.9 million cubic meters of desalinated water per day, as the largest producer, in the world, using environmentally friendly desalination techniques, that would achieve an additional reduction, in carbon emissions rates, up to 56 percent by 2024.
